Objectives and results
The project’s main objective aims at developing the rule of law and further strengthening anti-corruption measures in the Republic of Moldova in order to enhance good governance to the benefit of business and investor-friendliness and economic growth in the country in cooperation with a civil society association.
- Objective 1: Identify mechanisms of corruption, maladministration and other institution-related obstacles to business
- Objective 2: Tackle the root causes of corruption to restore economic growth and business trust
- Objective: 3 Support practitioners and advocacy groups in the area in their activities to target policy-makers to achieve a sound administration and better business/foreign investment climate
Expected results are:
- Result 1: CSO networks (piloted by MGF) pressure policy-makers to enhance administrative services and to take measures for a better business/investment climate and legal certainty;
- Result 2: practitioners (bottom-up) depict systems of maladministration/corruption and find ways to immunise themselves. Their work becomes more impactful and efficient and this leads to more trust in institutions, accountable governance and more investments
Implemented activities
The work on the study is ongoing. Interviews with practitioners will follow at the end of March and the beginning of April. An outreach conference presenting the preliminary results will be held in Chisinau at the end of April.
