Project description

The development objective of the project is to enable exchange of best practices from Austria in the field in agriculture and rural development in order to promote competitiveness and growth in the livestock and agriculture sub-sectors over the next decade through the implementation of improvement measures according to agricultural strategy and institutional development.

Objectives and results

• increased knowledge on Macedonian farmers, processors and representatives of public institutions;
• shared the best practices from Austria in the field of agriculture and rural development
• shared best practices for establishing an integrated approach in dairy and milk sector
• prepared Policy Brief with recommendation for sustainable agriculture and rural development;

Implemented activities

Act. 1: Agriculture and rural development in Macedonia - desk reaserch and analysis of the policies, the current situation, and the opportunities for further improvements
Act. 2: Organized 2-day training for sharing good practice and experience from Austria
Act. 3: Prepared a recommendation for future perspectives
Act. 4: Prepared Report, disseminated results and follow up

Available materials

The Results of the Action will be disseminate through the Green Market magazine published every month and disseminated to more than 2000 farmers, the Policy Brief will be recommended to the Macedonian government.
