For more than six years, the Association of Cities and Towns, together with the KDZ Centre for Public Administration Research, has been supporting decentralisation and Public Administration Reform in the Western Balkans and the Republic of Moldova.

BACID (Building Administrative Capacities in the Danube Region) is co-funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and extended till mid of 2024. With the partners ReSPA, the Regional School for Public Administration, and NALAS, the Network of Assocoations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe activities to improve Public Administration Reform, Good Governance, Decentralisation, Digitalisation and Transparent Public Budgets will be implemented.

The kick-off meeting brought together key stakeholders for the Region, e.g. the Regional Cooperation Council, PA 10 and the Danube Strategy Point of the EUSDR, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), the City of Vienna, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the the ADA offices in the field.
