About the organisation
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy operates in the fields of agriculture, forestry and water management. The use of agricultural land, forests and other natural resources; hunting and fishing; protection of plants; implementation of policies in the field of food and animal safety; monitoring and study of water conditions as well as anti-urban protection, study and research of meteorological, hydrological and biometeorological phenomena and processes are some of the activities the Ministry undertakes. It supervises its jurisdiction and carries out other matters established by law. 20 sectors are formed in the organisation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy and 6 bodies are functioning.

Objectives and results
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy decided to implement the Common Assessment Framework CAF aimed at improving the quality of the ministry's overall work by:
- Introducing quality management processes in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.
- Performing CAF in accordance with the European requirements of the CAF Excellence Label
- Deepening the practical knowledge of employees in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy in North Macedonia with the principles of quality management in the public sector.
- Developing the strengths, improvement areas and improvement activities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy for an overall improvement of the organisation.
Implemented activities
So far, the following activities were set up to implement the CAF program in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy:
- CAF Training – November 17th, 2022
- CAF Consensus Workshop – February 15th - 16th, 2023
- CAF Improvement Action Plan Workshop – April 26th, 2023
Based on the agreed CAF Improvement Plan, the improvement activities (6 CAF Packages) will be implemented in the following time frame: 2022 – 2025, under the supervision of the CAF Programme Manager of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Mome Mladenovski: momemlad@yahoo.com.
